If you have just joined a mlm company and are struggling with it so far, i'll be honest with you that the 1st few months or even year in any mlm sucks big time! This is probably what your upline forgot to tell you when showing you the big figures that you were going to make in a year! The reason for this is that in your 1st mlm you simply have no idea how to go about sponsoring people that will 'grow' your team size, and believe me, your family members and friends that have joined you will not grow it for you because they're new to it as well. You'll soon run out of friends and family to call anymore and again believe me you're only going to make real money when your team size grows into thousands, not a few hundred, so where does that leave you? What do you do?
Every business needs a system in place that will attract new people all the time,. Network Marketing is a people's business and always remember in this business people will join you not the company, they'll need to be sure you can mentor them to success and trust you to be there all through. Of course this will only happen if you're successful yourself, and being new yourself you're obviously not, yet. The key word is 'yet'. This is where the term "posture" comes in. Remember 'people like to buy, not be sold'. You don't have to be a millionaire to act like one, but you definitely need to act like one to become one. You'll have to act and feel like a successful person to make it a reality. So, you'll need a millionaire's mindset, body language and confidence in everything you do. Is there a million dollars in your bank account? Not yet, but it's on the way.
So, stop trying to sell a business opportunity to someone who's not looking for one, it's like trying to sell a comb to a bald guy, he wouldn't take it for free leave alone buy one. You need to offer your opportunity (your mlm company) to people who are looking to become Home based business owners, who are looking to join a network marketing company, who are looking to create an extra income and are willing to work the hours required to build the business etc. There are hundreds and thousands of people on the internet everyday looking for these kind of opportunities, they should be your primary target, they qualify to be your best leads, they will most probably grow your team size better than your uncle George who has a job and joined you just to help you out.
Most people you meet will have a negative opinion about mlm and network marketing, do you honestly want to waste your time and energy trying to prove them otherwise or should you be looking for people who are looking for such an opportunity and willing to join? As I said earlier this is a people's business and people will join you not your business, don't expect anyone looking for a mlm to straight away join yours. The only way he/she will join you is after you've built a relationship with them over a period of time, again I hear you ask, how? There are several ways to ensure such people keep coming to you and join you when they're ready meanwhile you develop a relationship with them. These are the people you want in your team for it to grow quickly.
For the beginner I'll mention a few essentials on what you need, firstly a website (yourprivate.com) needs to be put up, this should give information about you, your product and the opportunity, don't go into details of why yours is better than the rest. Mention honest and real figures and facts, use your upline who's made tons of money as an example, don't lie about you having made $5000 in your 1st month etc. Put up testimonials of the successful leaders in the opportunity, again make sure it's all truth, wrong facts won't get you anywhere.
Next you need a capture page on your website where your visitors will leave their name, email address and possibly phone number. The best way to make sure most people do is to offer something in return for their email address. An exclusive interview, a free report, tips and tricks etc, These obviously should be related to the field of mlm. This capture page is what will generate endless leads for you all year, this is the list you need to build, not the one that comprises of your work mates etc
So, now you have a website and capture page in place, you need to drive traffic to your website and there are several ways to do that, some are free and some will cost you money, ads will cost you while discussion forums, article writing, social networking websites etc are free. Make sure your articles, discussions include a link to your website. Don't just write any article or comments, give value to your reader, let them know you know what you're talking about. If you don't offer them any valuable insight, they're not going to pursue you.
Paid ads will drive traffic to your website much faster if the ads are cleverly written and create curiosity in the readers mind to click on it. However, when your ads stop your traffic stops too, so create a balance between both paid and unpaid ways to driving traffic. If you don't have the money, stick to the free ways mentioned above. The unpaid ways will run forever, they might drive traffic slower but will do so continuously for free, so don't ignore those options.
Sign up to all the major social networking websites like facebook, twitter, orkut, webs, myspaces etc and create your online friends and followers, join friends, interact with them, leave comments, visit their pages and leave messages etc, You're building your relationship with them here, don't go mentioning your mlm to them, this is where after a few casual chats you can begin to mention your opportunity, key point here is money and not your company's product, i don't care how good you think the product is, bottom line is everyone understands money and are attracted to it much faster than any products. Ask them casually if they would be interested in earning an extra income working a few hours from home. If they say yes simply direct them to your website, don't start explaining your product and opportunity straightaway, remember to keep your posture. Let you website do all the presentation for you.
One of the most important feature after this is the autoresponder which will send updates, news, tips, facts and anything of real value to your list that the capture page keeps generating. These emails to your list have to have substance in them, don't send emails on how well your company is doing, where they've opened a new office or who the next blue diamond in your mlm is, they don't care, send them testimonials of real people who are making unbelievable incomes, send them stories of how xyz in your company went from being a waiter to earning thousands of dollars a month, send them information on network marketing that would be exclusive, like a written interview of your successful upline etc
The most important thing you need is giving value to the people you meet and interact with, if you hold no value in their eyes, no one will bother taking you seriously or joining your business. To bring value to the table you need more knowledge than they have, so increase your knowledge by reading books, buying courses surfing the internet for any information you can get on your business i.e. network marketing.
