What type of product or service do you have for your online home
business? Is it for both men and women or for one or the other? This
is a real important question to figure out in determining who you
should advertise to.
Think about how different men and women shop. A man will go in a
store and go directly to what it is he wants to purchase. A woman
will take time to check out all the new products on her way through
the store. The same goes for the way they use the internet.
By knowing how long a man will stay on your website for your online
home business versus a woman, can help you in grabbing their attention
for what you have to sell. It is real important to get your message
in front of the right person in order to be successful.
Women
A study done in 2009 reveled that 51% of women use the internet to
keep in touch with their families. And that 62% will research
information on the products that are looking to purchase.
Women will use the internet to interact with support groups, read
spiritual information and to get health information. They tend to
search more for bettering themselves and their families. However there
are a lot that have an online home business now days, especially the
stay at home moms.
With the economy in the whole, there are a lot of stay at home moms
that have their work on the internet. This way they do not have to
commute back and forth to a job, or pay for an expensive baby sitter
or day care.
Men
Statistics say that men are more likely to read the news, check sports
scores and see where the next football or baseball game will be held
at. Most of them love being on auctions, like E-Bay, buying cars and
boy toys, and also buying stocks and bonds, staying up with the latest
on the stock market. The study also showed men staying online longer
than women for entertainment. The study shows 80% of men are online
for entertainment.
Both men and women do spend a lot of time these days online, but as
you can see each one for a different reason. They search and shop
online differently, just like they search and shop in a brick and
mortar store.
Position Your Product or Service
By taking into consideration how every man and woman use the internet
will give you an inside look at how to position your product or
service in front of each of them. How to target them, even if your
product or service will support both of them.
When having an online home business the biggest thing you want to
happen, is to increase your conversion rate. By knowing how to target
your niche market and increasing your conversion rate, will in turn
increase your business.
With knowing how men and women differ in using the internet, even
finding out statistics on the different age groups will allow you to
figure out just who you should target to make your online home
business stand out from the others and become successful.
