The zoo is open every day during the fall and winter, September 28 through April 14, from 9 am until 4 pm. The last admission is at 3:30 pm. During the spring/summer, April 15 through September 27, the zoo is open every day as well from 9 am until 5 pm. The last admission is at 4:30 pm. The zoo does not open on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
General admission for adults is $12 and kids 3-12 are $6. Seniors over the age of 62 pay $8 and kids under 3 and zoo members are free. At the gate you may pay with Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. The gift shops do not accept American Express, however. Parking is free at the zoo every day.
If you are looking for something fun to do that is great for the entire family and that is also affordable you will want to visit the Roger Williams Park Zoo. The weather is beautiful most of the year and during the winter you may need a coat and hat. Otherwise, you will be able to enjoy the zoo all year round. If you happen to live in Providence then you can get into the zoo for free the first Saturday of every month if you have proof of residency.
