So I have to admit that most of my curiosity about seeing Paul Blart: Mall Cop stems from the fact that it was shot entirely in my home state of Massachusetts (though it's set in New Jersey - go figure). I'm a fan of Kevin James and always thought he was hilarious on the now defunct CBS series The King of Queens. With James in the lead and Adam Sandler's production company Happy Madison Productions behind it, I thought maybe I would be pleasantly surprised. I can say now that Blart pretty much cruised along the lines of what I expected - a tame, juvenile exercise in comedy with nothing new to offer.
